To install an operating system on your Cloud instance, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Cloud Control Panel.
- On your dashboard, locate the list of your servers.
- Find the server you want to install and click the
Manage
button.
- If the server status is
Awaiting setup...
, you will be redirected to the server setup page.
- On the server setup page, you can configure the following settings:
- Name: Enter a name for your server.
- Hostname: Specify the hostname for your server.
- Timezone: Select the timezone for your server.
- Next, choose the operating system and its version from the provided options. You can also choose
Self Install
which allows you to select an ISO CD file from the list, which will be mounted to your server.
- If you have an SSH key, you can select or add it to enable secure passwordless authentication. Alternatively, you can choose password authentication.
We recommend using SSH keys as this keeps your server more secure.
- Under advanced options, you have the option to enable VNC, which allows you to open the screen of your server.
- Optionally, you can select the DNS resolvers you prefer.
- Once you have configured the desired settings, click the
Install
button to begin the installation process.
